Dieffenbachia 'Mars' is a striking cultivar known for its large, tropical-looking leaves with bold variegation. The leaves of this variety are deep green with creamy white or light green speckling and patterns, creating an eye-catching contrast. The plant has a bushy, upright growth habit, making it ideal for adding structure and height to indoor spaces. Like other Dieffenbachia varieties, 'Mars' is easy to care for, making it a great choice for beginners or those looking for a low-maintenance yet visually appealing houseplant.

This plant does best in typical indoor conditions, tolerating low to medium light and moderate humidity. However, care should be taken when handling Dieffenbachia, as its sap can cause skin irritation and is toxic if ingested, so it's best to keep it out of reach of pets and small children.

Native to
Dieffenbachia 'Mars' is a cultivated variety of the genus Dieffenbachia, which originates from the tropical rainforests of Central and South America. In the wild, these plants grow in the forest understory, where they enjoy dappled light and high humidity. This variety has been bred for its attractive variegation and compact growth, making it well-suited to indoor environments.

Water
Dieffenbachia 'Mars' prefers to be watered regularly but likes the top inch of soil to dry out between waterings. Overwatering should be avoided, as this can lead to root rot. It is important to ensure good drainage, as the plant does not tolerate soggy conditions. In winter, reduce watering slightly as the plant's growth slows.

Light
This plant thrives in bright, indirect light but can tolerate lower light conditions. Direct sunlight should be avoided, as it can cause leaf burn, especially on the lighter parts of its variegated leaves. If placed in too much shade, the plant may lose its vibrant variegation, so moderate indirect light is best for maintaining its colourful foliage.

Humidity
Dieffenbachia 'Mars' prefers moderate humidity levels, ideally around 50-60%. If the indoor air is too dry, particularly during winter, placing it near a humidifier will help prevent browning of the leaf edges. While it can tolerate average household humidity, higher humidity levels encourage healthier, lusher growth.

Temperature
Dieffenbachia 'Mars' thrives in typical indoor temperatures between 18-24°C. It should be kept away from cold draughts or sudden temperature drops, as it is sensitive to cold. Exposure to temperatures below 15°C can cause the leaves to yellow or wilt. Stable, warm temperatures are key to promoting healthy growth and vibrant foliage.

A Beta Worth Rooting For
Format: Kindle
In Spare, Violet Fox flips the omegaverse on its head, giving us a Beta heroine determined to make her mark. Joining the Beta Trials to support her sick father, she's thrown into a pack that doesn't want her, especially the possessive Alphas. But here's the twist: their sweet Omega turns out to be her scent match. Cue the angst, forbidden tension, and a slow-burn romance that will make your heart ache in the best way. Violet Fox delivers an emotional, refreshing take on the genre, proving Betas aren't "spares." They're stars.

Beta, Alpha, Omega oh my!
Format: Kindle
Omegas are precious and given to Alphas & their packs... but the Betas want in too. To this end, the Beta government is rolling out its trial of assigning a Beta to each Alpha-Omega pack. But forcing a Beta into a pack where they are not wanted will not end well... Of course, no one expected the Omega to fall for the assigned Beta. Great read and cliffhanger

A familiar story, just with…..less.
Format: Kindle
So, as other reviewers make clear, this is very similar to Pack Darling and The Beta. It’s much closer aligned with The Beta, in plot and maybe more like Pack Darling with characters. That being said, I don’t hate this…..but it wasn’t great either. It’s both books mentioned but just….less. Less angst, less emotion, less feeling. The plot feels very half fleshed out, and the “bad guy” feels underwhelming. I didn’t really feel any real emotions from and of the male leads, except maybe Oliver. The others fell sorta flat for me. And Mika makes herself out to be this big bad ass straight outta training and then we never see it from here again with the one fitting room incident as the exception. SPOILER: The whole, “Oh, I’m actually probably an Omega, but I don’t wanna be but I do actually wanna be but no one can ever know my secret that I do nothing to hide “ thing fell so flat. She never commutes to believing she was secretly an omega, but also mentions her “secret” a lot. It just felt so manufactured. I’m intrigued enough to read part 2 and see how the author closes everything out, but this is not one I’ll recommend or ever come back to.

Good start to a series
Format: Kindle
I delayed reading the series for reasons I don’t remember. But my TBR list is huge so I thought I’d take a shot of this and I was pleasantly surprised. I didn’t think the blurb about it was anything special. But it was a very good book. It took some interesting twists and turns. I am so glad the second book is already out. Because I would not have waited patiently. Very slow burn but good storyline. 🔥🔥/5

A good read
Format: Kindle
Multiple points of view. 3 Alpha men and an Omega male. She is a Beta in training for a new program placing betas in Alpha/Omega packs. Mila is only doing the program for the money to take care of her dad. She wasn't expecting to fall for a pack but when she sees this packs Omega she is done for. There is just something about him. His Alphas are good looking as well. Too bad she is hiding a secret and their government is acting shady. I liked it and can't wait to see where their story goes.
